Like a flood I am redeemed
Clouds are forming
New power to be released
And all God’s children
Are dancing in the streets
We life our heads to heaven
And open wide our mouths
We will drink deeply
Of the rain you’re pouring out

My Fair Lady has been my favorite movie since when...
Eliza Dolittle: But I can get along without you.
Don't you think I can't!
Prof. Henry Higgins: I know you can. I told you, you could.
You've never wondered, I suppose,
whether...
...whether I could get along without you?
Eliza Dolittle: Don't you try to get around me.
You'll have to.
Prof. Henry Higgins: So I can, without you or any soul on earth.
I shall miss you, Eliza. I've learned
something from your idiotic notions.
I confess that humbly and gratefully.
Eliza Dolittle: Well, you have my voice
on your gramophone.
When you feel lonely without me you can
turn it on. It has no feelings to hurt.
Prof. Henry Higgins: Well, I can't turn your soul on.
Today is Thursday.
I like Thursdays.
Houston is hot. Family is good. 4 year olds are cute.
May flew by… birthday, move to Houston, family reunion, nannying, Erin’s wedding. Lots of exciting things. And now it’s June, and next week I get to go to Scotland, then I get to come back and hang out with a wonderful guy and celebrate Amurcah. Exciting things.
I pass my days here swimming and making...

the LOVE that WINS.
… The love that wins is a holy love.
The love that won on the cross and wins the world is a love that is driven, determined, and defined by holiness.
It is a love that flows out of the heart of a God who is transcendent, majestic, infinite in righteousness, who loves justice as much as he does mercy; who hates wickedness as much as he loves goodness; who blazes with a fiery, passionate love...

aubsome:
Do not be deceived, Procrastination. Our cause is never more in danger than when a student, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do a professor’s will, looks round upon an computer screen from which every trace of the word document they have been working on and the translation generator which has been helping them work has vanished under a virtual curtain of social networking...

I love extreme weather. There is nothing quite like being forced to put life on hold. Schools and business close, streets disappear, everything goes quiet. It’s like God is saying, “hey, stop and breathe. remember, you’re not in control, I am.”
We are loved and held by an almighty, powerful Creator.

TEDtalks: Sir Ken Robinson on Education
“We have sold ourselves into a fast food model of education and it’s impoverishing our spirits and our energies as much as fast good is depleting our bodies…”

big dogs and attack roosters
Well hi there inter-world. It’s been a while.
The summer has flown, I have loved my internship, the high school girls I worked with, the solid mentors that surrounded me, the random adventures, my Tulsa host family, all of it. There hasn’t really been much to blog about however… I’m no longer climbing mountains or jumping off of bridges every weekend, the crazy stories...

seasons change
I guess its been a while since my last Ecua-update. Sorry about that blogsphere.
These last couple weeks have been so full and crazy and have flown by. I’m coming to the end of being swamped by school (i hibernated with my computer for a week or 2 workworkworking), loving that the sunshine came back for this perfect week after hiding for a couple weeks, and experiencing as much culture and...
i'd like to give a few shout-outs...
1. ModCloth- for making procrastination so much easier
2. cold lasagna- for the constant reminder that, once again, it is only tuesday
3. the sun- for being so modest these last couple weeks
4. Pam Holtz- for exercising my “don’t burst out laughing in class” skills in grammar
5. mcflurries- for being a wonderful excuse for fellowship and a reason to make it through the day...

it's gonna be a bright sunshiney day
Can I just say that it has been a great week, and it is only Thursday. Hallelujah. :) In all honestly, I haven’t really done anything exciting to tell you about… spent lots of hours at our favorite coffee shop studying/reading/writing with friends, had a few girl/movie nights, went to class, listened to some podcasts… that’s really about it. I’ve really enjoyed it...

40 days and 40 nights
Sunday, i hit a wall.
Monday, i had an epiphany.
This past weekend I ventured to the coast, to a quaint little beach pueblo called Canoa. It was so beautiful. Friday was kind of cloudy, but Saturday was perfect: sunshiney and breezy. We met some friends that (rather unsuccessfully) tried to teach us to surf, laid on the beach, ate some delicious food, and danced the night away at this little...
